MOOD: You are currently playing the role of Jughead's younger brother on the hit show, Riverdale. What has your experience on set been so far, and what’s it like working with Cole Sprouse, who also started his career at an early age?
Trinity: It's been one of, if not, the best learning experience of my life. I have so much admiration for Cole & the whole cast and crew. It's been so surreal and an absolute dream.
MOOD: Can you take us through your audition process? We would love to know everything from your initial casting tape, to your reaction when you got the news about landing your role.
Trinity: I had received an email that I had an audition for the role, but I was going on a hiking trip with my school the next week, so I wouldn't be available for the audition (I would have 100% missed the trip if it weren’t for my parents). Instead, I did a self-tape audition which is simply where you tape yourself doing a few scenes they send along. I didn't get my hopes up because I knew the show was so big, and I didn’t think they would cast someone new to the industry like me. Then months later, I had somewhat forgotten about the audition, and I was eating lunch at school and got calls from my dad, mom, agent, etc. telling me about the news. I was thrilled!
MOOD: You're 13 years old and are already shining on center stage. What are some of the challenges of being in the spotlight at such a young age?
Trinity: Though I definitely don't consider myself that way, getting used to a lot of rejection has been challenging, but has also given me a lot of determination. It can be really difficult to stay positive, and it definitely tests your resilience. In the end, if you’re passionate about something it’s all worth it.
